Many people experience dental anxiety with varying degrees of severity. Unfortunately when anxiety gets in the way, many people delay and/or avoid seeing a dentist until a dental emergency situation has developed and more complex treatment is required. At Cannington Dental, we understand the challenges that anxiety can present, which is why we are happy to offer our patients the option of Nitrous Oxide sedation, commonly known as “laughing gas“.

Nitrous Oxide is a specially formulated chemical compound which is administered to you by inhaling the vapours through a nose piece. It is designed to work quickly to relax you, and when used in conjunction with local anaesthetic, Nitrous Oxide will make your visit comfortable and successful.
There is no need to have anyone accompany you to your appointment as Nitrous Oxide leaves your body very quickly and you will feel completely “normal” by the completion of your treatment.
